I’m the author of Empire’s Crossroads: A History of the Caribbean from Columbus to the Present Day (2014). I now have a new book – El Norte: The Epic and Forgotten Story of Hispanic North America – that is out now in the United States, the UK and Ireland, and Australia and New Zealand. El Norte was shortlisted for the Mark Lynton History Prize in January 2020.
